Evolution or Creation?

Why do Creationists believe evolution is just a theory? Evolution is a fact, there is no evidence to deny it. All living things came from a single cell. Read "Origin of the Species"!

Well, I am no biologist by any means. Nor do I have any higher education in Biology. I will give you some main reasons why Creationists in general reject the theory of evolution.

1.) Is the earth old enough to sustain this theory?
The dating system science uses cannot be trusted with 100% accuracy. Most fossils and components of archeology are dated using radiometric dating (radiocarbon dating, potassium-argon dating, uranium-lead dating). This is how the age of the earth is dated. The problem is that it is not reliable. On May 18, 1980 Mount St. Helens erupted. As a result, a new lava dome was formed on the site. In August of 1993, a sample from the top of the dome was submitted to Geochron Laboratories of Cambridge, MA, a high quality, professional radioisotope dating laboratory. They dated it to be from 0.35 - 2.8 million years old, even though it was formed just 13 years prior. Do you see the problem? How can we trust that the earth is as old as scientists tell us? Obviously this is open for debate.

2.) Where are the fossils?
Science has identified 2 million species that inhabit the earth (but claim there could be between 5 - 100 million). All of these 2 million species evolved from a single cell, which means that each individual species should have tons and tons of evolutionary changes that happened over millions of years. Now out of all 2 million species that each have had tons of evolutionary changes guess how many fossils we have found showing these changes? None. Zero. Yes, not even one. Out of all the fossils archeologists dig up of different species all over the world not even one of these "transitional" fossils have shown up. Why?

3.) What about mutation?
Evolution relies heavily on mutation to produce improvements in organisms through random chance. But, the evidence doesn't support this. Instead of improvements, mutations tend to show deterioration. 99.99 percent of mutations are harmful, even lethal. Almost every mutation we know is identified by the disease or abnormality it causes, not its benefits. Isn't this the exact opposite of what evolution claims? Mutations are only changes in genes that already exist. Mutation, therefore, is a result, not a cause.

4.) Bio-genesis.
Lastly, evolution itself doesn't hold an argument regarding creation. Evolution begins with elements that already exist and are in place. Where did these elements come from? Bio-genesis is the scientific study of origin. This is the field of science that should be explored if you would like to debunk creation, not evolution. The theory of evolution does absolutely nothing to disprove creation. It is merely a theory that uses elements that already exist, and this my friend has nothing to do with the origin of existence.
